The actor is seen in a plain Jane avatar in the teaser of her next film Queen. Sans make-up and the small town chick twang, Ranaut steps into the shoes of a naïve and innocent girl in the film. Directed by Vikas Bahl, the movie releases next year, Feb. In the teaser video, the babe is seen all excited about her wedding and how she’s gearing up for her romantic honeymoon to Paris and Amsterdam. She behaves like this coy bride-to-be, a li’l happy and a li’l nervous. Ms Ranaut portrays a set of mixed emotions in the video. While the idea of asking people for honeymoon suggestions is a great strategy to promote the film, we wonder what the fate of this movie will be. Kangy’s last film Rajjo, also a woman oriented flick like this one, bombed at the box office and went all phuss!
Is Ranaut’s attempt at doing such hardcore female centric roles going to strengthen her position in B-town? Well, guess only time will tell that. Until then I get good vibes from the movie. Vikas, the director of Queen, has set quite a benchmark with his first film Chillar Party, which was an absolute delight to watch. So the expectations are nothing less than ‘sky high’ from him.
