We wonder if the actor can alone carry a movie on his shoulders
The actor is receiving rave reviews for his performance as Kaal in Krrish 3. Critics seem to be going gaga over Oberoi’s sinister act and the audiences are still hooting and whistling for this tech savvy villain. In fact Vivek recently shared an interesting anecdote about the way he was approached by Rakesh Roshan for the superhero flick. The actor instantly gave his nod after reading the script but it’s much later that he discovered that the director wrote the character keeping Vivek in mind. Well we must say Mr Roshan has managed to translate his vision amazingly on screen.
While Kaal is winning hearts all over, the one question that’s gnawing at our brains is, can Vivek Oberoi pull off a solo hero act…ever? The whole solo hero set up seems to be jinxed for the actor. He tried Jayantabhai ki luv story this year and fell flat on his face. Recognition and success seem to touch his feet only when he does a multi-starrer. Grand Masti was quite a super hit (which is a pity!), he got great feedback for his role as a reporter in Kurbaan and now Krrish 3 has bought him loads of luck.
Vivek has done movies like Saathiya and Company which have already proved his credentials as a good actor. Of course circumstances and his own over smartness have bit him in the wrong place, but what does he exactly need to do now to get back in the solo hero race?
– We guess going for a complete image revamp might help. Maybe convince people that he is this mellowed down dude now who has pulled his socks up, just to get back to some serious filmi business.
– Take up more hard-hitting characters like Kaal and not care much about commercial success at least for a couple of years.
– Do nice and soft romantic films like Saathiya, and steer clear from the over the top, wannabe kinda movies. This might help the producers and directors restore their faith in the actor again.
You never know Vivek, our invaluable suggestions might do you some real good. Wink wink!
