After spending years in the industry, Zinta seems to be in a happy and content space, now that she’s discarded those glamorous stilettos and stepped into the formal shoes of an entrepreneur. Although she does return to acting every now and then; last year for instance we saw her in Ishkq In Paris. Her experiment as a producer failed miserably and the movie gave an unbearable headache. But I would love to see Zinta in a strong role someday; something she clearly has the potential for. And I hope she doesn’t attempt at playing a mind-numbing character like ‘Ishk’ with a redundant ‘q’ again.

Dil Chahta Hai: She was all sorted and mature as Shalini in Dil Chahta Hai. Quite unlike the talkative Preity, Shalini was a girl of very few words in the film. Aamir fell head over heels in love with this curly head, and only mustered the courage to tell her that right on her wedding day. A very well-etched out character, Zinta was seen in this small yet significant part and she totally managed to blow us away.
Lakshya: The actor made sure she adopts the body language of a fiery journalist in the film. Forever ready to take charge of the mike, this energetic activist was the powerhouse of the film. Her passion even drove the lazy Hrithik Roshan to do something worthwhile with his life in the movie. With her curly gelled and fringed hair, Preity looked cute as Romila.
Kal Ho Na Ho: The sombre Naina smiled and rejoiced only when SRK made an entry, stretching his arms in the air, bringing joy into her life. Her serious sulky character gave the audience the uncontrollable giggles. Zinta romanced, broke her heart, fell in love again – Naina’s complex love life in the movie was quite the highlight. My fave scene in KHNH: when SRK teaches her how to smile with the help of his so-called 3 steps…
Dil Se: Preity entered the world of films with this movie. She received rave reviews for her bubbly charm. People went gaga over her cuteness. Of course she also attempted a hot song in the movie (remember Jiya Jale?), and pretty much managed to convince that she can be seductive as well…
