This is about Amitabh Bachchan’s debut on TV in a fiction-based show on Sony TV. At the same time, he comes back with KBC season 8! Would this be an over-dose of Amitabh?
TV just got bigger!!!
No, we are not talking about the size of TV screens or the latest technological updates. TV viewing is going to witness an amazing phenomenon, the debut of the superstar of the millennium, the one and only, Mr. Amitabh Bachchan! Although we have seen him on the small screen a million times, in numerous Ads, interviews, reality shows but his next outing is going to be in a fictional show, titled Yudh, on Sony TV.
Yudh is derived from the name of the character, Yudhishtir, which Mr. Bachchan will be playing. With a terrific support cast of Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Kay Kay Menon, Tigmanshu Dhulia and Sarika, this should prove to be an ideal launch-pad for him. Not to mention, the series will be directed by none other than Soojit Sarcar, director of movies like Vicky Donor, Madras Café etc and will have Anurag Kashyap as Creative Director! You guys must be thinking now, can anything gets bigger than this? Nah!!!
By the time the show goes on air and Mr. Bachchan starts to win a place in your hearts, he will come in another avatar in your living rooms. Yes, he will be back in August as a host to the popular game show, Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 8. So there you have, double dose of Mr. Bachchan, as a host in a reality show and as a lead protagonist in a fiction-based TV show competing with the younger lot of actors across various channels for eyeballs.
This would make these younger actors very uncomfortable. Think of it, a man well into his 70s is still one of the busiest actors around. He is getting work in all possible mediums of entertainment and still has it in him to fight it out like a fighter should! In the field, for his share of pie, doing what he does best, that is acting! On second thoughts, this should be like an inspiration for others to follow his work-ethics, his passion for perfection, and his hunger to do better and better work, no matter what the odds are.
Some people might think this could be an over-dose of Mr. Bachchan. However, this could be a real blessing for his ardent fans and followers to be able to see him up-close and personal, on a frequent basis. To see him performing varied roles can be really soothing to the eyes, not to mention the heart and soul as well!
So, plan your days ahead, keep watching this space to know the launch dates of both shows so you can get a dekko at your beloved star, from the comforts of your home.
We wish Mr. Bachchan a great debut and yet long innings!
