National Film Awards is an honour that every actor and actresses dream of getting it. This award is presented annually for actors’ stupendous performance and contribution to Indian Film industry. There are many actors who have given outstanding performances in several movies and got nominations too but who never took national award home.

This actor’s contribution to Hindi cinema is immense. Shahrukh has more than 200awards and accolades but sadly he never won National film award.
Aamir Khan received many nominations for his movies but was never adjudged as Best Actor. His career is filled with cult and great movies like 3 Idiots and Lagaan but still I guess he has to still prove his mettle.
The prestigious accolade had eluded Sunil Dutt. He was an ace actor and known for giving block buster movies like Mother India, Mujhe Jeene Do, Milan and many more.
Dharmendra and his movies like Sholay, Chupke Chupke, Satyakam and many others had received praise from all quarters except from jury of National Film Awards.
This superstar of Bollywood gave slew of ever green and cult movies which we still revere and cherish today. We are still thinking why he didn’t get the recognition as best actor at national level.
This multi talented star, who worked in movies like Guide, Jewel Theif, Hum dono and several others failed to impress the jury bench of National Awards.
It’s very shocking that Dilip Kumar never bagged national award. His movie like Devdas, which was created again and again, was a great a movie. Mughal E Azam, Naya Daur, Ganga Jamuna and many others were some extra ordinary dramas that still revered today.
Other actors who were bestowed with this awards- Om Puri, Utpal Dutt, Anil Kapoor, Mithun Chakravarthy, Irrfan Khan, Saif Ali Khan to name a few.
