2 States starring Arjun Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, looks like a film that’s going to be high on romance and drama. It gives a very feel-good and a positive vibe. But does the music also give that same sense of upbeat feeling? Well, let’s find out!

Offo: Offo is one of those youthful numbers that just brings that sort of ‘happy’ spring to your step while you are moving around. It marks that point in the film when the protagonists fall head over heels in love with each other, celebrating that they finally got acquainted with the four letter word. There’s also this cool playfulness about the song that instantly brings about a grin on your face. Sung by Amitabh Bhattacharya and Aditi Singh Sharma; this ditty is for one of those days when just feel like dancing with anyone and everyone.
Locha-E-Ulfat: The song begins with a typical Bollywood-ish melody. Sung by Benny Dayal, Locha-e-ulfat is a track about Arjun Kapoor whining cutely about being love struck. I won’t say this is an out-and-out delightful number, but the funky lyrics and Benny’s cool voice laced with a decent tune make it a pretty ‘tolerable’ song.
Iski uski: Every album is incomplete without a song which has a Punjabi feel to it. The bhangra beats and fast-paced rhythm give the song a foot-tapping effect. For people who like their music with a bit of desi tadka, Iski uski will surely capture their attention.
Chaandaniya: Chaandaniya takes the cake, hands down! This has to be the best track in the whole album. The soft and sweet feel of the song just blows you away. Reserve this for one for those tiring days when you need to hear something to soothe you down.
Hulla Re: With a couple of fast-paced songs occupying a major portion in the album already, this seems like an unnecessary addition for some reason. I personally found the track very bland and boring. There’s this insipid quality about it which fails to strike a chord. You can happily give this one a miss; it fails to make you hum it…
Mast Magan: Again a very mediocre track by Arijit Singh and Chinmayi Sripada, Mast magan lacks a certain USP. It’s like you are listening to just another song. But I will still give this one a benefit of doubt…maybe listen to it a couple of times and wait for it to grow on me…
