Are you nervous about riding in the rain?

There are many riders who grow cold feet when it comes to drive in the wet weather.

Indeed, riding during rainy seasons can be a little complicated and if you do not follow safety tips, it might be dangerous too. So to avoid a good hard bath both the pillion and the driver need to follow certain motorbike riding tips that will keep you safe on wet conditions.

Whether you try to avoid riding in the rain or you enjoy it, there some basic rules that you must keep in mind.

1)      Cover Yourself Properly

It is during these times that you realize the importance of full face helmets. When you are riding at higher speeds while wearing the half face helmets, the raindrops will sting immensely. Thus, it is advisable that during rains you wear the full face helmets. Riding becomes easier and helps you to keep your focus intact.

Your rain gear for riding should also include proper rain suits. The usual rain suits are fine for light showers. However, if you are expected to ride in heavy rain then the usual suits may allow water to seep inside and make you uncomfortable and cold. So check your raingears before using them.

2)      Test Traction

Rain prevents your tyres from working properly and it generally leads to accidents. The best way is to test the traction well. Use the brakes marginally by using the rear brakes to the point of lock-up. Be extra careful on repaired roads, intersections, blind turns an roads washed away by water. You can also opt for tyres that are especially designed for wet roads. These have water channels that drain the water out.

3)      Use Rain Vision

To see clearly in rain is a real trouble. One way to solve this problem is to opt for the Poly glass shields that are meant for wet riding. There might also be the problem of fogging for your helmets. To get rid of it you can use a helmet packed with pin lock visor.

4)      Maintain Right Distance on Road

It is always safe to maintain a safe distance from the vehicle in front of you. You can also allow the tail gating rider pass you or you can make a gentle hand movement that would keep him away from you.

5)      Avoid Riding in Thunderstorm or Wind

It is always safe to avoid riding your pillion in thunderstorm or heavy wind. It becomes too difficult to keep your position in these circumstances.

Whether you would ride in rain is an individual choice. But if you are in rain then ensure you follow the safety rules to avoid uncalled for situations.
