Needing 2 runs in the final over and two wickets two spare, Glenn Maxwell bamboozled the tailender batsmen as Pakistan embraced yet another humiliation. With that in account, their country’s board (PCB) has announced that Misbah-ul Haq won’t be forced to stand down as Pakistan captain.

Pathetic fielding unit
This Pakistan team is the worst on the field. Except for a couple of players, the rest of the lot are lazy and have ‘butter fingers’ when it comes to taking catches. Umar Akmal dropped a ‘sitter’ in the slips that of Glenn Maxwell who went on take Australia to victory. With such a poor fielding performance, Pakistan’s chances at the World Cup are very, very slim.
Poor batting
Pakistan players are a talented bunch but lack the cohesiveness to carry a long inning at the crease. The likes of Ahmed Shezhad, Umar Akmal and Sarfraz Ahmed are quality players but must their skills onto the match time if they are to deliver success at the World Cup. At the moment, it’s zilch!
Captaincy is zero to nothing
Misbah-ul-Haq’s captaincy issue has been making the wrong noises back home in Pakistan as well as within the team. News coming out from the management is that the experienced batsman hasn’t turned up for the practise sessions and there are signs that the former could hand in a shock retirement. If Misbah goes, who does PCB turn too?
The loss of Saeed Ajmal is a big slip-up
ICC issued a ban on star spinner Saeed Ajmal’s bowling action, rising further problems in the Pakistan camp for the Australia series as well as the World Cup. Without Ajmal, Pakistan are handicap on the field and the bowling attack looks weak as well. Without him in such a big tourney, Pakistan might just wave the white flag before the Group Stage.
