She gave a Chennai Express and a Yeh Jawani Hain Deewani after which we could officially state that the babe is on a roll. She killed all competition and ruthlessly trampled on her rivals. 2013 was her year, and she was unstoppable.
But just when all that hard work had started to burn out Ms Padukone and she wanted to take it easy as she stood at the threshold of 2014, someone made a grand entry. Kangna Ranaut shocked everyone with the sleeper hit Queen. The underdog, all of a sudden transformed into a winner people never bothered to notice in the past. The small-town Rani left such an indelible impression on industrywallas; you can almost say that the bang she created with one movie was equivalent to the loud thud DP created with 4 films. It was that powerful.
And now when you see the trailer of Revolver Rani, you just stare at Kangna in utter awe. What’s the gal doing? Where was this awfully ‘crazy about her work’ mad chick hiding before? Her amusing female-daku like appearance and her desi dialect is enough to predict that she’s going to create a dhamaka again.
Amidst all the raving and praising brouhaha, I really think Deepika and the likes need to get their act together and stop resorting to clichéd crap. Kangna has clearly set a benchmark, and living up to that is going to be no cakewalk. And all this really makes me wonder if this year, KR is going to give the Ram Leela babe a serious run for her money. If you ask me, I can see the Queen actor’s coffers brimming with all that moolah already!
