Alright, guys. Do not start giving us the death scare for suggesting something as ‘crazy’ as getting married in your mid-20s. It does have its own perks. Don’t believe us yet? We tell you…read on!
Your dating phase is never really over:
You’re young, successful and eager to take on the world. What better way to enjoy your success than with you partner by your side? Your legally wedded partner! In our society, ‘dating’ is not something that people approve of, so getting married to the person of your dreams sounds more logical. Also, when you marry young, your dating (read PDA) is never really over. You’re still the goofy, hand-holding, too-much-in-love couple that you were! Marriage doesn’t sound that scary, does it?
Time without the burdens:
It’s simply an extension of your courtship days, so it doesn’t come with responsibilities. You’re not under immense pressure to have kids, move to a bigger house and start planning for your kid’s school. You’re free to have fun, travel the world and have an awesome time with your better half. If you wait around till you’re 30 to get married, you’re only going to rush from one milestone to the next without really spending any quality time with the Mrs.
You get to grow old:
This is the clincher for us, really. You get to grow old with the person who means the world to you. By getting married before you hit the 30s, you actually get to see their various personalities. From being irresponsible boyfriends to loving husbands to a caring father to a companion in the old age. 20s are the best phase of your life, why not get married when you’re young, happy and ready to take on the world? You might not have figured stuff out by your 20s, but you sure know where your life is heading…
You will look gorgeous in your wedding pics:
As vain as this sounds, nobody wants to look bad in their wedding pictures. There’s a good chance that you’ll look pretty in your 20s than your 30s as you fight grey hair, wrinkles and other crazy stuff that happen as you age. We do hope that you want to look smashing in your picture and would not want to wait till your hair is thinning…to get hitched. Would you?
Better chances of making the marriage work:
You have jumped into matrimony with stars in your eyes, so obviously…you’re going to give it your best shot. When you’re old and experienced, you take marriage as just another step in your life. If things go wrong, you’d probably say stuff like, ‘Yeah, I didn’t think it would work out…’ because you’re too smart and world-weary to really be bogged down by such things. This is not us being pessimistic, but it’s what psychologists have to say.
Clock is ticking:
For women, the child bearing years are pretty limited. So the ideal age to marry is before she turns 30. That way, you don’t have to rush into parenthood and can enjoy each other’s company in the best possible way. Even if there are many advancements in the field of science, age is the best factor when it comes to pregnancy. Nobody can screw with biology, right?
More than age and status, marry when you’re mentally ready and can make a difference to somebody’s life.
