Are the makers of Inkaar cashing in on the Tarun Tejpal case?

It seems Viacom 18 is considering the idea of re-releasing the movie as it has a striking resemblance to the Tarun Tejpal case. As the whole nation is awaiting the verdict on the real case, the director of Inkaar Sudhir Mishra thinks that this is the best time for the film to hit the theatre screens again. The filmmaker says he will be more than glad if Viacom re-releases it. The director also said that Arjun’s atonement in the movie is not a six-month sabbatical; it’s instead giving up everything – from his wealth to his power for good.

The movie didn’t exactly manage to garner great numbers at the box office. It was a confusing love-hate relationship between Arjun Rampal and Chitrangda Singh, caught in a mesh of power and promotions at work. Singh’s statements lacked weight when she pointed fingers at Rampal in the movie for sexually harassing her at work. In fact in a couple of scenes you could see that it’s more of a frivolous lover’s tiff than an actual clash between the two.

The movie was a half-baked dish as the protagonists accused each other for no rhyme or reason. The idea of re-releasing Inkaar is an absolute waste of time. Comparing frivolous incidents in the movie with a grave issue like the Tarun Tejpal case seems very insensitive. What do you think people?
