The diva of all things controversial, Ms Pandey has said that she shouldn’t be blamed for the gruesome gang-rape of the 22-year-old photojournalist in Mumbai last week.
The last time she opened her mouth, she landed on Twitter with an account full of semi nude pics. This time, the ever so politically incorrect Poonam Pandey, has made a statement that will make her the darling of writers like me, who take every opportunity to bash her. Because, well, she deserves it…
The diva of all things controversial, Ms Pandey has said that she shouldn’t be blamed for the gruesome gang-rape of the 22-year-old photojournalist in Mumbai last week. She feels that she is being targeted because of her bold and sexy image. Well, Ms Pandey, just because your movie Nasha could not get the audience (read men) addicted, stop capitalizing on such a sensitive issue, being a woman yourself. well, we don’t expect much out of you when it come down to a woman’s dignity, but it’s a matter of humility.
If you had kept your undies on and bras buckled up, no man would have realized what a little tease of a woman’s body can do to him. For Indian men, grown up on item girls and voluptuous cleavage-heaving heroines on the big screen, the easily availability of soft porn on Twitter has been immense. He brands every modern woman as ‘loose’ and Poonam Pandey-esque. He feels that she would offer him free ‘Nasha’ much like the actress herself. In a bid to be modern and independent, the Poonam Pandeys of the society have made us caricatures. The magical word is to dress smartly, not sluttily!
When Pandey promised to go nude after Team India lifted the World Cup, a generation of men orgasmed in the corner, because it’s the first time sex was so ‘in-your-face’. It’s a different matter that the motormouthed actress never went nude, she only teased and played with the male minds. Let me tell you, Poonam ji, playing peek-a-boo with your male audiences is what is driving up their adrenaline rush and doing unspeakable things to their prized male possession.
Okay, even if for a minute, we believe tha your provocative pictures are not driving them sex-crazy. But what about all the small town girls who are trying to copy you (yeah, you of all the people) and are parading around half naked? Time and again we have heard from rapists that they violated the girl because she was dressed immorally. So, who is to be blamed? My grandmom?
The next time you wear something that shows off more than it’s intended, store it in your laptop. Do not bring it out into the Twitter world.
