With the cricketing world gearing up to see a last glimpse of the great batting icon Sachin Tendulkar, the host for his 199th Test – Eden Gardens is all set with a full house. The CAB authorities claimed that only 1,500 seasoned tickets are yet to be sold for the Nov 6-10 India-West Indies game.
The local staging unit, Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB), had put up around 7,500 tickets in the 65,000 capacity iconic ground for public sale through its ticket counters. “Each ticket is priced at Rs.1,500 and 6,000 tickets have been sold already. We hope the remainder would also fly off the counters before the game starts,” CAB joint secretary Subir Ganguly told the media.
Ganguly said in case any season ticket remains unsold at the start of the match, there would be sale of daily tickets. “This much we are sure, we will have a full house this time, as people are too crazy to attend Tendulkar’s last Test at the Eden,” he said.
Tendulkar will bid adieu to cricket after playing out the two Test matches against the West Indies. Ever since his announcement of retirement, plaudits and praises have been pouring in for the Little Master. Former India skipper and batting legend Sunil Gavaskar has called upon Tendulkar to score a ton in his final two Tests.
We all are waiting for Sachin’s final hurrah with the bat! or the ball?
