You can never go hungry in DU

Stagger out of the class and, voila! there is so much to refuel yourself just outside the college.

New to the Delhi University North Campus and drained out of all the energy? Stagger out of the class and, voila! there is so much to refuel yourself just outside the college.

Be it the pav bhaaji stall opposite Hansraj or innumerable roll, chaat, banta and instant noodles stalls dotting the campuses and areas around them, North Campus promises that you will never go hungry.

If you have charged yourself up with a banta, you can either walk or take a rikshaw to the Kamla Nagar market which is heaven for the hungry college crowd.

J P Tea Stall at Delhi School of Economics, Nandu ki Chai (Nandu is long gone) outside the Law Faculty and Tom Uncle’s Maggi (offers over 20 flavours) near Daulat Ram have enjoyed immense and abiding popularity for ages.

Kamla Nagar has its own stalwarts, including Momos Point and Chacha ke Chhole Bhature. Chacha has been in demand from students of other campuses as well.

If you want to have the absolutely delicious bhelpuris you have ever had, then you need to visit the silver-haired white-kurta’ed man (I don’t remember the name) who sets up his stall right next to the Patel Chest Bus Stop where practically all the University Specials start from.

A short 3-minute walk from Vaishnav Chat Bhandar, another delicious eatery at Kamla Nagar, and you will be able to see a roundabout. In front of that roundabout, you will be able to located the famous Bittoo Tikki Wala. You can try anything out there, kulfi, tikki, golgappas, and potato chat. Everything is delicious and tasty.

Some college canteens too have made a mark. St Stephen’s cafeteria is known for its ‘sexy anda’, ‘mince cutlet’.
