Easter is an exciting time of year for me and is a very important Christian festival. Everyone enjoy the fest by decorating Easter eggs, creating bunnies, indulging in feast and merriment. But do you why we celebrate Easter?
Easter celebrates the resurrection of Lord Jesus Christ and marks the end of Lent. According to the New Testament, the death of Jesus Christ by crucifixion is commemorated on Good Friday and He came back to life three days after his death. That’s why many call Easter as Resurrection Sunday. Through his death Lord Jesus paid the penalty for sin. This festival is also known as Pasch or Pascha.
There are no specific facts about the origin of the name. But some believe that it is derived from the German word eostarun meaning dawn and white.

A hot cross bun is a spicy and sweet bun and it has cross sign on top. As per legends, the cross represents the crucifixion of Jesus.
