Unidentified people pelted stones at Indian skipper MS Dhoni’s house in the Harmu Housing Colony, Ranchi on Wednesday night. While Dhoni’s family members were at the JSCA stadium to watch him play, a window of his house suffered damage during the stone pelting incident.
Speaking to a news channel, Dhoni’s brother-in-law said, “Someone pelted stones at the house. We’ll have to check the CCTV footage to find out what happened. We were returning after watching the match when this happened.”
This is not the first time Mahi’s house has been attacked by unidentified men of his own state. Dhoni’s under-construction house was also attacked in 2007 when India had performed poorly in a tournament. Angry fans then demolished an under-construction wall of the house.
The fourth ODI was a washout between India and Australia at the JSCA International stadium and was crucial for India as the trailing of the series is 1-2. A member of the family also told the news channel that the incident had nothing to do with the match.
