The 1st semifinal will see an all ‘IPL clash’ as Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings will go head to head at Sawai Mansingh stadium, Jaipur to clinch a spot in the CLT20 finals. We have highlighted five things that one could expect from the clash:
Will this be Rahul Dravid’s last?
Since Rahul Dravid has decided to bid adieu to Rajasthan Royals after the CLT20, a defeat here would call on curtains over the illustrious career of ‘Mr Dependable’. We hope it does not end on a bitter taste and wish Rahul all the very best for the future.
Sanju Samson’s batting prowness
The Kerela-born batsman has been on a fine run with the bat in this year’s CLT20 for his team and would hope to continue it. The opposition contains Indian skipper MS Dhoni and it’s no better way to impress the latter with the runs on board.
Pravin Tambe – spin wizard
42 is just a number for spinner Pravin Tambe who is enjoying his bowling at the moment. With an opposition that has the likes of MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina and Mike Hussey, amongs others, Tambe will be licking his fingers to get a chance to bowl at these heavyweights.
Mahi’s blitzkrieg
MS Dhoni smashed five sixes in an over to Sunrisers’ Thisara Perera in a group game, and we could imagine this time the number will be more. Seeing that its the semi final, we can expect fireworks from the man!
R Ashwin vs Shane Watson
Ravichandran Ashwin has always had an upper hand against the Aussie batsmen on Indian conditions. Shane Watson did falter against spin during the Test series in India but it will be exciting to watch what the Oz batsman has in store for the spinner.
